Three Clip ANalysis
Clip 1 - Zoey 101
Zoey 101, is a fast pase comedy. It uses lots of music - pop mainly, with techno elements. It has an extensive set, and to add to the realism of the program. The characters themselvs though, are over exaggerated, showing how they try to imbelish their roles for comedic purposes.
The program is non stop with movement. With there being lots of walking shots, with the characters walking to and from camera to other destinations. When this is used, there is also lots of use of backshots, showing how they would look as if we were there with them on set (or in reality).
There is a big usage of the 180 degree rule, with that being the main continuity editing technique used. However there is also a high usage of montage aswell, mainly in the sports scenes.
Clip 2 - Cuckoo
Cuckoo, has a slower pase then Zoey 101. Its music, is more instrumental, however, it is more realistic in the comedy that it uses.
It like Zoey 101, uses lots of the eyeline rule, but however, it also uses more cross cutting then Zoey 101 did.
It is slow but this adds to the comedic elements of the program.
Clip 3 - Brooklyn Nine Nine
Brooklyn Nine Nine, is less realistic then the other two programs, concentrating more on the humorous side of things, than the realistic side.
It does not use the eyeline rule as much as the other clips, this is because the show has more filming from the side on perspective, rather then first person.
There is a higher use of circumstantial humour, and thus more emotive, (even though most of it is over exaggerated) is used and shown.
